The following accomplishments (unless totally coached by Randy Hare) are achievements reached solely by Randy Hare. Randy does not take credit for accomplishments, money seizures, contraband seizures, or competition placements achieved by other handlers who handle dogs that Randy trained. Any accomplishments achieved by these handlers are almost always a result of the hard work and effort on the part of those particular handlers. Good dogs come only through good handlers.

1985

  • Trained first Police dog for the Monroe City Marshall’s Office in Monroe, Louisiana. This K-9 finished 15th overall in his first USPCA National Competition, held in Detroit, Michigan (95 Dogs Competing).

1988

  • Voted “Most Valuable Narcotics Officer” by the Dual State Drug Task Force with K-9 ‘Awesome’ for South Arkansas and North Louisiana.
  • 5th Place in USPCA Regionals (Region 10) Patrol Dog – Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  • 2nd Place Obedience in USPCA Regionals (Region 10) – Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  • 3rd Place Scentwork in USPCA Regionals (Region 10) – Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  • Awarded “Rookie Dog of the Year” for 1988 (Region 10) USPCA National Field Trials held in St. Cloud, Minnesota - 7th Place overall out of 126 competing (very first National Trial / Top 20 Honored)

1989

1984 – 2007

  • Initiated over 50 Major (At Least 50 Pounds of Contraband / Over $100,000.00 in U.S. Currency) Narcotics Cases consisting of Highway Interdiction Cases, utilizing self-trained Narcotics Detection Dogs.
  • Served as Judge and Instructor in both USPCA Sanctioned Trials, as well as, NPCA Certifications and Seminars. Note: While I appreciate and respect both of these organizations, I am no longer interested in being a member or certifying official for outside organizations.
  • Assisted and trained hundreds of K-9 and Handler teams involved in Police K-9, Narcotics Detection, and Schutzhund to titles, certifications, and Patrol Work.
  • Held and instructed multiple courses and seminars on Police Dog Training, as well as Detection Dog Training utilizing Randy’s innovative training techniques. Many of the students in Randy’s Courses and Seminars are already considered Professional Trainers in their own right with numerous students attending from foreign countries.
  • Randy has instructed and spoke at every major K-9 Conference in the United States
  • Contracted by Canine Training Systems, Inc., in 2006 to complete a three tape video series on new and innovative methods for training Detector Dogs.
